1. March 18th Bloomberg News:  SENIORS TARGETED BY OBAMA HEALTH PLAN
Most of you know by now that the Senate version (at least)
of the "stimulus" bill includes provisions for extensive rationing of health care for senior citizens.  The author of this part of the bill, former senator and tax evader and disgraced Obama nominee, Tom Daschle was credited  today by Bloomberg with  the following statement.  Bloomberg: "Daschle says health-care reform "will not be pain free." Seniors should be more accepting of  the conditions that come with age instead of treating  them."  
If this does not sufficiently raise your ire, just remember that Senators and Congressmen have their own healthcare plan  that is first dollar or very low co-pay which they are  guaranteed the remainder of their lives and are not subject to this new law if it passes.  

2. MEDICAL CIVIL LIBERTIES
New Gingrich and Rick Tyler had a piece in Newsmax.com on 15 MAR 2009.  He accuses candidate Obama of :formless messages of hope and change.”   Now President has made a change of forcing doctors to participate in medical procedures they believe immoral.  Previously, your physician was protected from the government and others by three laws {1973 Church Amendments; 1996 Public Health Service Act Amendment; 2004 Hyde-Weldon Amendment} from discrimination and intimidation for participation in medical care (or non-care) that they feel morally repugnent.

3. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
(HIPAA) was enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1996.   This became enforced in 2003, after most of the politicians who voted for this time bomb were no longer around.  Criminal penalties are given for a number of fraud and abuses of the health care scheme by “covered entities”.  The sell point was the privacy rule, which defined “protected health Information” (PHI).   

COMMENT: The truth is that although your best friend or family member cannot talk to your doctors; the government gets the raw material.  Further, it attempts to force electronic medical records. 
4. EUTHANASIA.

“Psychologist Ira Rosofsky (non-prescribing, talk-therapy health worker) calls in an LA Times Op-Ed for withholding treatment of dementia drugs.”  Of course he wants psychologists to be paid to hold the hands of the family of the dementia victims.

2.Cordyceps sinensis (Cord.y.ceps  Sin.en.sis) ...... Himalayan Viagra
This report by Richard Stone out of Kunming, China.  C.sinensis, one of 400 species of a fungus, is the most prized herbs in the world, priced at $60,000 per kilo in 2008.  This parasitic fungus,  grows inside ghost moth, while it hibernates in mountain meadows int the Tibetan Plateau.  It does not grow in the lab In the ancient days, Chinese kingdoms waged wars over this fungus.  As recently as July 2007, a gun battle between rival villagers broke out with eight dead.  The frenzy in the Himalayas is so intense that 3.5 km2 of mountain grassland are turned into desert each year, effecting the watershed major rivers of China.  The fungus looks like a penis sticking up through the heather about 3 inches. 
Comment: This may be a circumstance, where the less expensive chemical ... viagra... may come to the assistance of Mother Nature.

3. Most Horrabilist Paper .. From Rotterdam, the Netherlands, concerning Tai Chi Chuan
269 community dwelling seniors, averaging 77 years of experience in walking were studied for falls over a 12 month period   Fall was defined as “unintentionally ending up on the floor.”  The Tai Chi Chuan uses the magic buzz words “Yang Style”.  Amazingly, there wee 115 falls in the Tai Chi group and only 90 in the do nothing group. 
Comment:  Shazam! The Dutch Government does not have to pay for Tai Chi lessons for the elderly.    The problem is the junk science design.  Yang Style is a 112 position marshal arts exercise that takes minimally 2 years to learn when instruction is 1-2 hours per week.  What they did was a 1 hour instruction for 13 weeks, teaching only ten positions, which they did as a Chi Kung exercise.  Let me explain.  Real Tai Chi is a fluid constantly moving exercise.  This stuff was imitating ten of the positions without the transition motions that lead from one position to the other.  It was Phony Tai Chi.  The study acknowledged the study was funded by the Dutch equivalent of the NIH.  Recall that the entitlement mode of the Dutch people is such that spouses of Multiple Sclerosis patients are provided sex workers courtesy of the government.!

4. Vitamin D, for teenies too!
Vitamin D levels in Teenagers were studied by a group from Johns Hopkins, who reported out at the American Heart Association on Wednesday, 11 MAR 2009.   Those with low vitamin D levels were four times more likely to have high blood pressure, high blood sugar, obese, high cholesterol, and big waists.   
Comment: Supplement vitamin D, especially in chubby kids to above 600 IU per day.

5.  CT Scans and Risk of Cancer:
On Nov 29, 2007 the NEJM published an article by Brenner & Hall that argued 1/3 of all CTs were medically unnecessary.  Further within “a few decades”, about 2% of all cancers in US would be from CT usage.    OUTRAGEOUS study, designed to grab headlines. 

Drs. Bobby Scot and colleagues at the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute did the right thing and challenged this junk science.  They noted that Brenner & Hall used a flawed method called LNT (linear-no-threshold) to add up hypothetical individual risk (NOT reality).  This LNT technology is based on exposure to a thermonuclear blast.   They found numerous papers showing low-dose radiation stimulated immunity against cancer cells.  The mentioned, but did not carefully analyze the obvious fact that many lives are saved due to early diagnosis by these scans.  There is much math and science, which I will not go into.  Their conclusion, to my thought, is correct in that there truly is no credible evidence to support the notion that current usage of CT scans in the US will cause future cancer. 

-Scott BR, Sanders CL, Mitchel REJ, Boreham DR.  CT scans may reduce rather than increase the risk of cancer.  J Am Physic Surg 2008; 13:8-11.   

6. Rumpelstiltskin
A widowed miller became drunk at a tavern and bragged about his beautiful teenage daughter whom he bragged could spin straw into gold.   Word came to the king, who being greedy was interested in gold.  He had the girl brought to him and upon threat of her father’s life, locked her in a room filled with straw overnight; instructing her to spin straw into gold.  The poor girl broke down in tears of hopelessness.  But in a few minutes, a little dwarf appeared in the room.  The gruff little man who had a wooden leg asked, “What would you give me if I do this for you?”  My mother’s necklace, responded the little girl.  The King was impressed, but put her into a second larger room filled with straw with the same threat to execute her father if she did not spin gold.  Again the girl broke down in tears.  BUT in a few minutes, a little dwarf appeared in the room.  The gruff little man who had a wooden leg asked, “What would you give me if I do this for you?”   The ring on my finger, the frightened girl responded.   She went to sleep.  In the morning the gold was there, the straw was gone, as was her ring.  So a third night, the greedy King put her into an even larger room filled with straw.  Again the girl despaired, but the little gnarled man appeared.  “I have nothing left that I could give”, she said.  The dwarf said,”The King is greedy and you are pretty.  He will marry you.  So I want your first born child.”  The girl felt that the little man was crazy, so she agreed.  Indeed the King did marry her.  A year later she gave birth to a child.  The little man appeared to claim his child.  The Queen cried and lamented, and softened the little man.  “Ok.  To be fair, I will go away for three days.  When I return if you can guess my name, you may keep your child.”  Over the next three days the queen plotted and ordered soldiers to search the kingdom for the little man.  They found him deep in the forest where he was hopping on his one good leg singing,
“Today I bake, Tomorrow I brew,
the next I’ll have the young queen’s child
As no one knew that Rumpelstiltskin is my clue” 

The following day The queen guessed - Conrad?, Harry?, then Rumpelstiltskin?
The little man went into a rage, so uncontrolled he plunged his wooden leg into a knot in the wood floor.  He struggled, ripping off the leg, and bleeding to death. 
COMMENT: The lessons are 1) when you are precisely on target with the truth, the devious ones will respond with uncontrolled anger.  2]Do not brag (hubris) as the authorities (king) will hear   3] Goblins and Jews eat children, so stay close to your mothers.(A Historical lesson from 1700's)

CHINESE UNMASK HIGH-TECH ADULTERATION WITH MELAMINE
In March 2007 we were surprised by the discovery of contaminated pet food causing death by renal failure.  This was ultimately traced to melamine contaminated gluten in China.  But this was a two shoe event.  In the summer of 2008 Melamine showed up in Baby food.  There had been a previous contamination in 2004.  This time 4 Chinese babies died, 150 babies had acute kidney failure, and 53,000 others were sickened.    It got so bad that wealthy Chinese hired wet nurses to protect their babies.  The FDA actually did a good job here.  It is the reason why the FDA now has 3 offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai.  Two more offices are to be put in India, and two in South America. 
Melamine is a useful compound.  It is used to produce plastics, fertilizers and as a fire retardant.  It is insoluble in water, so the presence in milk related Chinese products was a puzzle.  It requires a sophisticated wholesale re-engineering of milk.  Special emulsifiers are used to suspend melamine, the milk has to be diluted in certain manner, and compound infused into the solution.  The motif?  Money, as a small amount of poor quality milk can look like a high fat, high-quality milk.  Now the Chinese have 30 people are detained , including a general manager of one of China’s largest powdered milk makers.

b+} Muzzammil Hassan, the 44 year old Muslim Pakistani banker who came to America 25 years ago and settled into Niagra Falls, NY with his wife.  He took his MBA and founded “Bridges TV” in Buffalo to counter the ‘negative perceptions of Muslims” after 9/11.  On February 12th (two days before Valentine’s Day) Mr. Hassan beheaded his wife as a honor killing.  It seems she filed for divorce on February 6th, which triggered the necessity of her beheading.   Comrad Hassan has been charged with SECOND degree murder.

COMMENT: What is interesting here is the fact that this was not reported in by AP, ABC, CBS, NBC.  Fortunately Officer O’Reilly of Fox News is on the job.   Locally the story was carried on 22 FEB 2009 in the Albuquerque Journal, .... but in the religious section.  The point of this article was the Muslim reaction.  Said Saleemah Abdul-Ghafur, “Muslims don’t want talk about this, for good reason.”  You don’t say!  Perhaps there needs to be much more talking about this.   Then there is Imanm Mohamed Hagamagid Ali of sterling, VA who cleverly said, “violence against women is real and cannot be ignored.”  Did anyone hear condemnation of honor killing here?

Dimebolin   
Barry Ramo, MD caused quite a stir by mentioning dimebolin (Dimebon), a Russian antihistamine available since 1983.  It is now a neuroprotective with multiple mechanisms of action.  It inhibits L-type calcium channels, modulated NMDA and AMPA (glutamate receptors), and blocking neurotoxic beta-amyloid protein.    The Lancet published a Russian Study in mild - moderate stage Alzheimers patients with promising results in Phase III trials.  After 26 weeks(6.5 months), 44% of Dimebon group (78 subjects) improved as opposed to 20% of placebo group (77 subjects).  The p<0.0001 (ie.  One in 10,000 chance that
the effect of dimebolin is by chance alone). 
Comment: This bears watching, but the probable benefit comes from a mechanism seen in Namenda, which is readily available.

Chiropractic is the third largest doctored profession in healthcare.  Six percent of Americans, and 12 % of Canadians utilize chiropractic, principally for back & neck pain.  Although Chiropractic does not have the same level of credibility as other healthcare professionals, a 2006 Gallup Poll showed 83% of persons satisfied or very satisfied with their care.  Basic principles of Chiropractic include the patient-centered approach.  “The patient is considered to be indispensable in, and ultimately responsible for, the maintenance of health.”  This is a principle I can support. 
History: DD (Daniel David) Palmer of Davenport, Iowa was a healer of the 1890's, who hypothesized that manipulation of the spine could cure disease.  By 1898 he began teaching his theory in the Palmer School of Chiropractic.  In 1906 his school was taken over by Bartlett Joshua (BJ) Palmer.  He rapidly expanded enrollment, and the graduates got in the face of the allopaths.  In 1910 the Chiropractors embraced the x-ray, as a diagnostic tool. Chiropractors were arrested for practicing without a license.   This feud continued to the landmark 1987 decision of Wilk vs AMA in which the court found that the AMA had engaged in unreasonable restraint of trade. 
Theory: “Straight” Chiropractors Reductionism is that a single factor, vertebral subluxation, is both the cause and cure of all health problems.  The Mixer chiropractics combine other paradigms of wellness. 
Areas Treated: Classically low back pain, Whiplash, neck pain, headache are considered the purvey of Chiropractic.  But the are many other areas addressed.

2.   BISPHENOL-A (BPA)   
BPA is a chemical building block from which polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins are made.  For more than 50 years it has been put into CDs, DVDs, Automobile parts, Sports safety equipment, water bottles, etc.  BPA’s is tough, heat resistant and has optical properties that allow it to be used as lenses for glasses.  Some nutters have linked it to increased prostate and breast cancer wnd reproductive problems.  Last year the flawed JAMA raised the question of heart disease, diabetes, and liver damage.  COMMENT: Madness.  If true concern, eliminate alcohol.... oh that was done.  Premarin has been linked to these problems... are we to outlaw this?  We need to go on offense.  If you hear this nuttiness, tell a friend how crazy our media is.

3. LONG TERM USE OF SOME OSTEOPOROSIS MEDICINES QUESTIONED  
From NY Times (15 JUL 2008).  There is growing evidence that bisphosphonates actually looks bones look more dense, but makes them more brittle and likely to fracture.  This would include:
Alendronate (Fosamax)
Risedronate (Actonel)
ibandronate (Boniva)
Zoledronic acid (Reclast, Zometa)

The article looked at a 10 year study, where after five years the number of hip fractures was the same regardless of whether the patient did or did NOT continue taking the medications.  The concern is that long-term suppression of remodeling by bisphosphonates result in microcracks over time.  This weakens the bone, making it subject to fracture.         

COMMENT: Folks, keep taking your bioidentical hormones, and vitamin D!!

NM Medical Society announced that Dr. Steve Komadina received the Ralph R. Marshall Award from Senator Jeff Bingaman, on DEC 5, 2008.   This is a ward for exemplary service to the NM Medical Society and the state’s physicians.

Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the House and advocate of abortion, went on her government paid for vacation back to her roots in Italy.  She had a meeting with the Pope.  The story headline: “Dope meets Pope, Pope says Nope!”

5.  ASTHMA/ COPD/ Emphysema  FOLKS, LISTEN UP
From the prestigious Medical Letter comes this caution.  The large study (SMART) found an increased risk of asthma-related deaths in patients receiving long-acting beta-1 agonists.  Medications involved and black boxed by FDA are:
- Serevent Diskus (GSK) (salmeterol)
-Foradil Aerolizer (Novartis) = Formoterol
but also the combination products
– Advair Diskus (GSK) = fluticasone / salmeterol
– Symbicort (AstraZeneca) = budesonide/ formoterol 

A bit more detail.  Beta2 agonist = causing smooth muscle relaxation, resulting in dilation of bronchial passages, vasodilation in muscle and liver, relaxation of uterine muscle and release of insulin.   The long acting beta-2 agonists cause down-regulation of the receptor, so the rescue treatments like albuterol simply do not work.  Now when you put a long acting local steroid together with the beta-2 agonist, the risk of asthma-related death goes away.  MEDICAL LETTER RECOMMENDS: no use of isolated long acting Beta2, UNLESS a corticosteroid is added .   Thus Advair Diskus and Symbicort seem to be OK.
COMMENT: Due to the steroid suppression of inflammation, be vigilant about infections as well.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, educated at the University of Michigan and the Detroit Medical Center, DR. PASCUZZI obtained his specialty training in Emergency Medicine through the United States Military Joint Military Medical Centers in San Antonio Texas.
Dr. Pascuzzi first arrived in New Mexico in 1990, serving as a Flight Surgeon for the 524th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico. From 1992-95 he spent 3 years in residency training at Wilford Hall USAF Hospital and Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Returning to New Mexico in 1995 he served as Flight Commander for Emergency Services at Kirtland AF Base in Albuquerque, NM for two years.
After leaving the USAF, Tom practiced for 10 years in Santa Fe working at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. In 2006 he returned to Albuquerque to work for Presbyterian Healthcare Services as Medical Director of Care Coordination and Utilization Management. PAD is a narrowing of arteries going into the legs. Symptoms consist of
intermittant claudication (pain), numbness, bluish coloration of the toes/feet.
There are now effective methods of treating these disorders. Now CTA has an
established sensitivity and specifiicity of 98% for detecting PAD. So it must be
time to restudy it. A week end study of Medline (687) and Embase (344). The
Dutch authors excluded 868, leaving 21 studies (2.03 %). How accurate can a
study be when you throw out 98% of the data. Conclusion of the chosen 21 studies
95% sensitive and 96% specific. WOW!

You and I have heard of Charles Darwin, whose birthday os Thursday 12 FEB.
We understand that species change and mutate. In Islam they like to keep them
dumb and down on the farm. A survey published in Science showed in Egypt
only 8% thought evolution could possibly be true. For 92% it was not possible.
Lest we blame Egypt, look at Pakistan where 14% believe evolution of species is
possible, and 86% deny its possibility. Got to the east, Indonesia.... one of two
Muslim democracies, where all boys must be trained in Islam .... 16% think

about it.

4. Oxytocin, the “Love Hormone”
Casual Sex is perhaps not so casual. Recent work on Oxytocin, a 9 amino acid peptide
(Cysteine-tyrosine-isoleucine-glutamine-asparagine-cysteine-proline-leucine-glycine), is now
suspected to be the “love hormone” It is released from the posterior pituitary. It is called forth
by breast feeding, uterine contraction, vaginal organism (and penile orgasm) and “sexual arousal.
Actions of oxytocin within the brain include sexual arousal, bonding, maternal behavior,
increasing trust and reducing fear, reducing opiate or alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Given to
male rats in the CSF, it results in ‘spontaneous’ erections. When given systemically it can
impair memory retrieval. Even kissing, holding hands, and massage will result in rises of
oxytocin in women.
Thus, the concept of cold sexual intercourse is a fantasy. Choose your mate, BEFORE you leap into bed. Happy valentines day!

b] Clinic - Prostate and Male Sexual Health [ Short]
The prostate is an exocrine gland about the size of a walnut which is
located at the base of the penis – i.e. between the penis and the
bladder. The urethra runs through it, which is the problem. With age it
grows and chokes off the bladder. By age 70, forty-five per cent of
men are symptomatic with hesitancy of urine stream, and nighttime
arousal to pass urine.
In youth, the prostate is an important sexual organ, creating a watery
alkaline (pH 7.29) fluid that is about 30% of the semen. This allows
the sperm to last longer in the naturally acid vaginal tract. The
prostate is arousable and is the male equivalent of the famous “gspot”.
In the aged, the prostate swells due to "-adrenergic mediated stromal
smooth-muscle cells and the estrogen sensitive glandular epithelial
cells. Estrogen, specifically estrone and estradiol cause both the
stroma and epithelium to swell. Estradiol further aggravates matters
by increasing DHT (actually inhibits the elimination of DHT). This DHT
swells epithelium and Stroma.
Curiously, Estriol (E3), Progesterone, and Testosterone with
Progesterone cause shrinkage of the epithelium
The first line of INTERVENTION is blockade of alpha-adrenalin
receptors on the smooth muscles, or fibromuscular stroma of the
prostate. This relaxes the prostate and is a good temporary solution.
Drugs that do this are:
Flomax [tam.su.lo.sin tamsulosin]
Uroxatal [al.fuzo.sin alfuzosin ]
Next, we can block the production of DHT by blocking 5-alpha
reductase:
Prescription drugs that do this are
Avodart [du.tas.teride dutasteride]
Proscar [Fin.asteride finasteride]
However this is risky business. First it increases the risk of conversion
to prostate cancer, and it leads to impotence.
There are fortunately there are numerous less risky means of
shrinking the prostate, while enhancing male sexual performance.
This is a delicate matter and a bit of art work however. Prostate and

Guys at Yale/ U So Carolina figured out how to get the government to pay for
extended vacations in northern Italy. They looked at 698 community-living
persons 65 or older over 3 years (1998 - November 1, 2001).
They collected blood samples and did physical stress testing (eg) 4-meter walking
speed; 5 time chair - stand test). They found at p<0.01 that low serum vitamin E
was related to decline in physical function. There was no efect seen in B12/ B6/
B9/ Vit D/ Iron.

the audience do the rationing. They gave ORAL testosterone to 237 men (120
Testosterone & 117 placebo) x 6 months. They then proved that the dose was
woefully inadequate, by drawing a single testosterone which showed no difference
between the placebo group and treatment group. They then pretended to be
surprised that there were no changes in hand grip strength, cognitive tests, and
bone mineral density. Conclusion Hey you Dutch men do not need Testosterone

Engineers such as Farshid Guilak of Duke University are reshaping the future of worn out body parts, such as cartilage, ligaments, and even heart muscle. Let's look at knees which can withstand 12 megapascals of pressure -- more than ten times the amount generated by hanging from a cliff ledge of Sandia mountain by a single fingernail. In the past there was anti-inflammatory medications and ultimately knee replacement. More recently there is knee microsurgery, where the damaged tissue is cleaned out.

NBA star Greg Oden, of the Portland Trailblazers has received a new technology of microfracture. Here tiny holes are punched in the bones surrounding the knee. The influx of blood brought stem cells out of the bone marrow, which were to differentiate into cartilage-producing chondrocytes. Odens knees self repaired so well that he is back to "solid monster dunks."

In the future look for new technologies such as 1] transplant cartilage from elsewhere 2] amplification of harvested chondrocytes from person or cadavers by growing them in a petri dish; then reinjecting where needed. 3} engineered cartilage where amplified chondrocytes (cartilage cells) are grown on flexible scaffolds of polyvinyl pyrrolidone, then surgically placed. Here the new tissue is actually stronger than the original!

Last Nov 15th the Houston Zoo held a memorial service for Mac, a two
year old Asian Elephant born weighing 384 lb. He was a smart little
elephant learning more than 50 behaviors and grew to over two tons.
Less than 12 hours before his death he displayed lethargy and loss of
appetite. He died of internal hemorrhages. He was the 6th Houston
6th elephant to die fo the disease.

2. Herpes gladiatorum
The Japanese have proven what I have suspected for decades that herpes type 1
(cold sores) can show up on the skin anywhere on the body. Of course they were
motivated as it was passing from Sumo Wrestler to Sumo Wrestler. Indeed one
wrestler died of it. Usually it was raw painful lesions arising on the abrasions of the
face, neck, arms, and legs that occur with the sport. The credit must go to the
National Institute of Infectious Diseases in Tokyo.

3. Activity around Senile Plaques in Alzheimer’s Disease
In the brain, the hall mark of Alzheimer’s disease is the senile or amyloid plaque.
Indeed most therapies under consideration are geared around shrinking or
preventing these plaques. My iconoclastic approach is that this is a mistake, but
the majority of my colleagues do not listen to me. Recently work done at Ludwig
Maximillians University in Munchen, Germany has discovered that the neurons in
the zone around the plaque is hyperactive. In fact these neurons fire in unison,
leading the researchers to worry about this as a source of seizures in AD. Their
methodology in their mutant mice was elegant, but too complex to explain in our
limited time.
CONCLUSION: highly active neurons at the border of the amyloid plaque. Possible
cause of seizures
COMMENT: the role of the plaque is to maintain homeostasis. Think TBC or
Histoplasmosis. The toxin leak is the etiology. Should figure out ways to help the
containment process.
4. Bleach kills Bacteria
At first blush, this does not seem like news. You use it in your own household,
right. However Melanie Coker of U. Otago, Christchurch, New Zeland has show
that immune cells of our bodies release HOCl (hypochlorous acid). This then
oxidizes bacterial proteins, unfolding them and hitting them between the amino
acids releasing NH2Cl and NHCl2 , which kills the bacteria.

1. The Right Resident Bugs in the Gut. The human gastrointestinal tract has over 500 distinct types of bacteria /yeast/ and the like. Their estimated numbers are greater than the number of humans on the planet – 1014. That is 100 million millions of bugs in
the gut. Now, we know from the tomato/ salmonella scare that the right bugs are important, but the human system is too complex to study so we use the fruit fly (Drosophila). A group of south Korean scientists studied the effects of a gene called “Homeobox Caudal” on the type and number of bacteria in the fruit fly gut. They found that the antibodies made by the gut of the fruit fly changed, hence the types of bacteria shifted in proportion and the host fruit fly dies. Point of the lesson? 1) Your host genes effect the number and type of bacteria in your gut. 2)Not only are their good bacteria important, but BALANCE of bacteria is the key for the host survival.

2) Add Salt to your Tomato’s. A news item from Chemical and Engineering
News is that by growing tomatoes in 12% diluted seawater, there were better antioxidants found. There were 37% more essential sugarss, 20% more vitamin C, 20% more vitamin E of all types, 31% more dihydrolipoic acid, and 15% more chlorogenic acids, than tomatoes grown in fresh water!. WOW ! ! How do you like those tomatoes! The authores note that addition of seawater should be intermittant, as repeated use will damage soil quality.

3) More Tomatoes & Salmonella. A group from the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo New York did a neat experiment on an agonist to Toll-Like Receptor 5. They isolated a small fragment of Salmonella flagella and found a chemical that inhibits nuclear factor-kappa Beta (NF-6&). Recall that NF-6& is the transcription factor that blocks apoptosis (programed cell suicide) by tumor cells. Now the Salmonella chemical was produced in large quantity and called
“CBLB502?. The Buffalo group has gave injections of CBLB502 to mice and rhesus monkeys forty-five minutes before exposing them to whole body letal radiation. They found the animals either survived or lived longer with fewer adverse effects before dying of the radiation. Folks this drug, made by Cleveland BioLabs of Buffalo, offers hope of reducing side effects from radiation given to humans for cancer treatment.

Women are born they have 1-2 million undeveloped eggs. At puberty only 300,000
eggs remain with 600 eggs dying per month. At menopause all eggs are used up.
Estrogen is produced by the eggs and placenta during pregnancy, adrenal glands,
and in men testes. Strangely, there are many women who have had estrogen deficiency or progesterone deficiency from the get-go. For example small breasts, lack of curves (android) body and irregular cycles may indicate low estrogen beginning even before puberty. OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS with estrogen deficiency = infertility, premature aging, osteopenia / osteoporosis, increased cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease. On the other hand progesterone deficiency can manifest with pudginess, large breasts, often with cysts, cysts of the ovaries, fibroids of the uterus, and heavy periods. PROBLEMS with progesterone deficiency: CYSTS {breasts, ovaries), cancer of the breast, endometriosis, endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial cancer, uterine fibroids, enlarged uterus, infertility, preeclampsia.

There are three main players E1 [estrone], E2 [ Estradiol], E3 [estriol]. The trick in female HRT is to be One With Nature! Same types, Same timing, Same physiologic doses. Precursors of estrogen are cholesterol, progesterone and even testosterone. Androstenedione converts to estrogen in peripheral tissues, .. especially in fat cells. 97% of estrogen is protein bound. E1 produced in ovary are converted by the liver to E2, with blood levels of 100 - 300 mcg per day. . E2 is anti-cancer (antiproliferative) and pro immune system. E2 has most receptors in the vagina, and has less affinity than E1 for the receptor.

hormones secreted by the female body. Non bioidentical hormones have been modified, or are
modified by the body before absorption. Non-bioidentical hormones cause excessive binding,
unstable or incomplete binding to the cellular receptors. The human liver was not meant to
process these hormones, and thus these hormones tend to accumulate in the body. Thus the nonbioidentical
ethinylestradiol will thicken artery walls, elevate cholesterol, increase blood
pressure, and make the blood thicker giving rise to clots that can kill.
